Babalik ka rin (You shall return)

A friend of mine has just recently found herself packing up her whole life and found herself returning to the Philippines to live. She has 2 kids as well, almost the same age as mine and has been living abroad with no yaya. She does it all on her own, kinda like me. We chat sometimes and compare notes and because her children are slightly older than mine I always seek her advise on everyday stuff.
Now she’s back home and in her recent blog she said how much she missed her old life and the children miss it too. Which lead me to think about our life, what if we go home? what will we do? where do we live? where will my children go to school? etc etc…
I always imagine ourselves going back when the children are much older, but the future is very uncertain…no one can tell where we will be in a few years time.

The Manila Food Trip 2012

Most people go to Singapore or to Thailand to have their “Food Trip”, me? I simply GO HOME…We have been very fortunate to have the chance to go home every year since we moved here 8 years ago. Every trip the food has always been the highlight for me. Aside from seeing my family, of course.
But now on our 8th year back it felt like every time we ate good food it felt like we were home.
